Top 4 Places To Buy Cool Cases Online

Nothing feels worse than when our phone/laptop/tablet slips out of our fingers and crashes face down. It takes a few seconds to shake it around, jab a few buttons, before you realize that its still alive and kicking. However in those few seconds, the life of the gadget flashes before our eyes. The thought of surviving for a few hours without emails, pictures, memos and all the contacts!
Sorry to state the obvious – we have deep love and respect for the gadgets in our life. To avoid scratches, bumps and other possible mishaps, we choose to wrap them up stylishly. Here is our list of favourite sites to shop from:

HTC One M8 vs the Galaxy S5 vs the Xperia Z2 vs iPhone 5s

With the HTC One M8 officially announced, the list of flagship devices for many companies is now complete. The HTC One M8 sees only a few changes vs the previous generation and a lot of difference between the two main competition for this year the Galaxy S5 and the Xperia Z2.
The HTC One M8 misses out on few things that the company could have simply added. 4K video recording is one thing that HTC should not have left out on, the other being a fingerprint sensor. The HTC One Max had it and naturally the M8 should have had it as well.
The HTC One M8 also misses out on being a water resistant device like the Z2 and now the S5. check out the full breakup of differences below

Sony steals the 2nd place spot from Apple in India

Sony India has overtaken Apple in their sales for smartphones in India becoming the second largest mobile phone shipper in 2014. This aggressive movement has been rewarded to Sony thanks to the company’s focus largely on the Rs 10,000-20,000 smartphone space, backed by Rs 300-crore marketing spend.
The number one spot was retained by Korean smartphone giant Samsung with 43% market value share. Sony took second place with 9.1% value share in the Indian smartphone market in the October-December quarter of 2013 against Apple’s 7% share.
This decline in Apple’s sales has been thanks to the company’s decision to withdraw sales of their largest selling unit the iPhone 4, and hence the disappearance of Apple from the under Rs. 20,000 price bracket. Apple did relaunch the iPhone 4 specially for the Indian market but failed to gather any response from the market who were hoping for a cut on the price of the iPhone 4s.
Sony Executives claim :
While this loss of sales prompted Apple to relaunch iPhone 4 once again in India in January, sales have not picked up since it is not at all spending on marketing or offering any buyback offer and even the initial euphoria around iPhone 5S has sobered down,
Kenichiro Hibi, managing director at Sony India, said the company’s smartphone business has attained similar revenues as its flagship television business in the fiscal ended March 31.

The smartphone business doubled in last one year which led to 20% growth in overall sales in 2013-14. We expect to grow at a similar pace this fiscal as well to touch Rs 12,000 crore sales
Kenichiro Hibi,
Managing Director at Sony India
While this may be considered a big loss for Apple, the company has seen decline of sale during the months that lead up to the launch of their next flagship.

Samsung Says First Gold S4 Was Sold Even Before The Gold iPhone Was Announced

Apple released its two new iPhone’s on 10th September 2013, iPhone 5c and 5s. iPhone 5s was launched with the new color ‘gold’ and since then, we have seen leaks for HTC phones going Gold but in the recent news we saw Samsung Galaxy S4 in gold color.
On Friday, Samsung posted to the company’s blog, Samsung indirectly acknowledged the popularity of Apple’s new gold iPhone 5S by posting a gallery where they showed all the phones launched in gold color by them(including Gold S4 ). The blog said:
“Everybody loves gold, which is why we sometimes make phones in that color. (Or sometimes even with actual gold for the body!) See below to check out some of the phones we’ve released in gold in the past”
The blog post was likely crafted in response to voices on social media channels like Twitter that took Samsung to task for claiming (indirectly) earlier in the week that it had a gold smartphone on the market before the iPhone.

Apple Releases iOS 7.0.2 Update To Fix Lock Screen Bug

Apple has started to roll out iOS 7.0.2  to fix a lock screen security bug which was discovered just the very next day when iOS 7 was available for the general masses.
Apple says iOS 7.0.2 will fix the issue where users could bypass an iPhone lock screen to gain access to personal information like photos, email, text messages, Facebook, Flickr, and Twitter accounts. It seems iOS 7.0.2 is a basic security update, however, Apple also said that the new update will also include a Greek keyboard option for passcode entry.
A NULL dereference existed in the lock screen which would cause it to restart if the emergency call button was tapped repeatedly. While the lock screen was restarting, the call dialler could not get the lock screen state and assumed the device was unlocked, and so allowed non-emergency numbers to be dialed. This issue was addressed by avoiding the NULL dereference,” said Apple.

Apple Patents New iOS Unlocking Features

A patent just awarded to Apple allows for a user of an iOS to lock or unlock a device based on a gesture — perhaps the equivalent of a child-proof cap.

The patent, as spotted by AppleInsider and reported by TechCrunch, would allow access to one set of apps — let’s say games for instance — with the drawing of a letter with a fingertip, and then another set, say email, with another, separate gesture.

Apple’s U.S. Patent No. 8,528,072 for a “Method, apparatus and system for access mode control of a device,” describes a system that creates user access modes guarded by predetermined gesture inputs.

Currently, as Apple Insider reports, Apple’s iOS offers passcode unlocking as a means of access control. Under this method, users must input a simple code or password to gain complete access to the device. Apple also provides a certain level of user configuration, allowing access to Siri, Passbook and Reply with Message even when a device is locked.

Such unlocking methods are definitely not new and various Android devices in the past along with custom ROMs have allowed similar functions, whereby a user can “draw” a letter or a shape to launch a specific app, such as the drawing of an envelope that would launch the email app.

This patent by Apple is also accompanied with the effective feature of “Guest Mode”. In this feature Apple will build a lock screen launcher that will easily be accessed by the user through gestures, voice, keyboard, mouse or stylus, already covered in the Apple patent.

More iPhone 5c Images Leak Along With Packaging

Apple is heavily rumoured to launch a couple new smartphones on September 10th – the low-cost plastic iPhone 5C and the new iPhone 5S. Apple has yet to confirm this date or these products, but the leaks have been a plenty.

The newest low-quality pictures to arrive online is from an overseas sites who claim to have snapped retail packaging of the “iPhone 5C” that includes the shipping box, manual and SIM card ejection instructions and tool.

The photos comes from website iApps.im, and it says that the pictures show iPhone 5C units in packaging.

It’s difficult to tell if the pictures are real, but they do seem to lineup with Apple’s past patterns. As with the 2012 iPod nano, the iPhone 5C seems to have a matching cover and wallpaper cover.

Two accompanying images show the rest of the stuff that’s allegedly found inside the iPhone 5C box, including the documentation and a SIM card ejector tool fastened to one of the sheets of paper inside.

These pictures lend more credence to the overall leak, but they’re still not enough to pass it as 100% legit.

Noticeably absent from this leak are the phone’s cable and headphones, along with the charger. However, this is hardly a surprise, since the phones themselves most likely lack their internals (i.e. logic board, battery, etc.).

Lastly, the photos indicate that the iPhone 5C will ship with iOS 7 pre-installed, something that was pretty much a given, since Apple has scheduled the iOS 7 launch for fall 2013.

First 'Hands On' Video Of The iPhone 5C Shows Off Web Browsing Capability

While endless Images of the alleged iPhone 5C are still being circulated over the web, a ‘Hands On’ video of the handset makes news yet again. A low-quality video posted to a Chinese website Today shows what is purported to be one of the first looks at a working version of Apple’s rumoured low-cost “iPhone 5C,” with the device shown navigating the Online Apple Store with iOS 7′s Safari app.  Not much can be gleaned from the roughly 50-second video, though the handset in question appears to sport a red or pink plastic shell, one of the features industry watchers expect to see in the iPhone 5C. At first glance, only the bright backlit screen can be made out from the grainy image, though a closer look reveals both an ear speaker and front-facing camera aligned in much the same way as Apple’s current-generation iPhone 5.  Authenticity of the video cannot be confirmed considering the video’s low quality and somewhat questionable content.
